Wow! This was super good! What a great start to the Whitlock Family series. First up is Asher. He is a SWAT officer for small town Sugarloaf. Asher has a young daughter who is deaf at birth. Baby’s mama is going out of town for the summer and he desperately need a nanny who knows ASL. Phoebe is the daughter of Asher’s boss. Phoebe babysat for Asher before but it did not turn out so well  Phoebe was known as aloof, irresponsible teen but oh how she has grown up. Phoebe came home from grad school a month early and is looking for a transfer to another school. Seems like a perfect candidate since she studies audiology and knows ASL… Asher does not have any confident in Phoebe and Phoebe hates his guts – seems a match made in heaven. Lol! These two are enemies-to-lovers, opposite attract, age gap romance – super spicy! Love the hilarious banter, sweet moments with Asher’s girl, swoon worthy protective hero, and the smart mouth heroine. Phoebe is younger 24 compare to Asher 38 but these two work for me. The chemistry was pouring off the page. I am glad for once there is no drama with the ex – the healthy co-parent is a breath of fresh air. The only thing that threw me off a little was the connection between Phoebe’s ex and Asher’s sister…seems to come out of nowhere. Other than that, I adore this story. The relationship between Phoebe and Liv melted my heart. I think this story has a little bit of everything for everyone – hot single dad, forced proximity lived in nanny/dad, boss’ daughter, age gap, sunshine/broody, forbidden love. Heartwarming and entertaining read. Can’t wait for more Sugarloaf love connections.
