Vera and Mateo are one of my favorite couples. If you read previous book from the Eden’s series you have met Vera and understand her past. Vera have been through hell and back, these days she lives a quiet life on Mateo’s family ranch. Vera is trying hard to put the tragic past behind and have a fresh start, but there is something she could not stop dwelling on. Vera is secretly looking for her missing father … can she really find someone if they don’t want to be found?
Mateo is one of the Eden’s boy. He has always been nice and welcoming Vera into his family. He is protective, handsome, charming and kind of clueless  He was blind to the huge crush that Vera has for him for years. One drunken night changed everything! Vera confessed her feelings for Mateo in the middle of a crowded bar, cock-blocked, and stormed out like her ass was on fire. This scene was epic  The timing was always a little off with these two. Vera is too broken that everyone treats her like a broken glass. She was sheltered and inexperienced with life. Mateo has a surprise event as well that turned his life upside down. They both need to work on themselves, their feelings, their careers, and how that would look for the future. It was beautiful to see Vera and Mateo “adulting” a long side each other. I really enjoyed the slow burn and natural progression of their relationships.

Sable Peak got a little bit of everything – mysterious, small town, single dad, damaged heroine, friends-to-lovers. It was an inspiring love story. Love Mateo – he is adorable. The “I see you” comment just about melt my heart in a puddle. Epic ending to the series. I am going to miss the Eden’s a lot!
