A Seal Forever by Anne Elizabeth – 4 stars

Synopsis: Special Operator Declan Smith was a dedicated U.S. Navy SEAL, a known player, and daredevil who loved pushing the limits. But on his last mission, an IED leaves him injured and angry as hell—and it changes everything.

When a loud crash disturbs his neighbor, Maura Maxwell, she assumes the sailor next door is up to his usual bad behavior. But the man she finds covered in glass is far from the cocky ladies’ man she’d grown to tolerate. Lying before her is a man fighting to rediscover his place in the world—and he can’t do it alone.

I work with a lot of veterans so I especially have a soft spot for military romance. This is the first book I read of Anne Elizabeth and I am very happy to say that this story has a little of everything I was looking for – action, drama, humor, and romance. The story felt real the way the author describe Declan’s life as a military man and how he survived and cope with his injuries. There are actions that make your heart pounds. I think the author did research on Navy Seals because the way she describe is so details that you would not know otherwise. I like Maura character – she is kind, sweet but also strong. Declan, well what can I say – he is a sexy, damage military man (right up my alley). The part how they met was sweet – he saved her. I think at first, I did not feel too much chemistry between the two mainly because they just met then he was shipped out on a mission and the story was about him at that moment on. The middle part of the book is about Declan’s time overseas, his missions; while at home Maura leads a separate life running her gym. So, there is a little bit of a disconnect there. But then their relationship picked up again afterward so that is when I see more connections and chemistry. Overall, this book is a quick read, emotional, heart-warming love story. I would definitely read Anne Elizabeth book again.
