Sidebarred (The Legal Briefs # 3.5) by Emma Chase ~ 5 swoony Stars!!!!

“Join Jake & Chelsea, Stanton & Sofia, Brent & Kennedy as they navigate the hilarious and heartwarming hurdles of love, life and the law in this final addition to the Legal Briefs Series.

There was a time when Jake Becker had it all together. He was controlled, driven, and ruthless— in and out of the courtroom.

Then, six irresistible orphans and their heartbreakingly beautiful aunt crashed into his perfectly ordered life. They changed everything. They changed him. Now he’s a husband, an upstanding member of society, a father figures—a family man.
And he’s pretty damn good at it.

Sure, he has to referee sibling smack downs, re-learn algebra, ensure his clients stay of jail, and keep his wife happy—but it finally feels like he’s got it together again….
So, of course something has to screw it all up.

It’s huge. Life-changing. Kind of terrifying.

And it will be the most amazing, perfect thing he’ll ever do.”

SQUEELE!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Legal Briefs series and this novella is a huge icing on the cake – a perfect, sweet story of Jake, Chelsea and the kiddos 2 years after their whirlwind romance.

“She is my love, my home, the solace to my soul, the keeper of my heart, the center of my entire fucking world.”

Jake and Chelsea have been married for 2 years – still blissful and in love. They adopted Chelsea’s 6 nieces and nephews. Life is chaos but Jake has never been happier in his life. Sidebarred tells the stories of the ups, downs, and the chaos that every family goes through on a daily basis. The issues range from dealing with teen problems (boyfriends), douche bag co-workers, to just the growing pains of children growing up. Oh, let’s not forget the sex talk – OMG!!! I was dying… you just have to read it for yourself. I had tears running down my cheeks from laughing so hard. Emma delivered all these real life parenting issues in such a hilarious, sweet and lighthearted way.

“I didn’t plan on you, Chelsea. Or them. And for as long as I live, you will be the best thing that ever happened to me.”

I have to say Jake is my current best book boyfriend (husband) right now… sighs… In my opinion, Jake is a perfect husband, father and role model despite some hiccups along the way. He is so smart, patient, kind, and caring. The way he took care of the children and Chelsea is just absolutely endearing. I think that’s what actually makes a man charming and sexy – not only his looks but his kindness. I literally have goose bumps all over seeing how he looks after the kids like his own.

“You are mine. Mine and Aunt Chelsea’s. Never doubt that.”

I can’t get enough of Emma Chase’s writing – fluid and comical. It’s told in Jake’s POV – my absolute favorite. This story is incredibly swoony – I had a smile on my face the whole time except for the part where Jake visits the Judge . It was a nice bonus to read a little bit about Stanton/Sophia as well as Brent and Kennedy. I feel like this novella can be a whole full book — I would totally hang on every word. It’s ridiculously cute – I don’t want it to end. There is a little epilogue at the end of the book which touched on the life of the children who are now grown. I am praying that Emma Chase will give each of them a story. I would love to read it. Thank you Emma for giving us a sweet HEA for Jake and Chelsea. I LOVED IT!

“To our next generation – may they be smart, talented, and beautiful, just like their parents.”

Cheers to that!!!!  Happy Reading everyone!!!
