For Better or Worse by Lauren Layne

This is book 2 of the Wedding Belles series and so far I like this one the best. The plot is especially yummy.
Heather Fowler is living the dream and on her way to become the newest Belle. There is only one problem, her terrible neighbor, Josh Tanner, is keeping her up all night with his band. It’s a neighbor war that turns into friendship and maybe something more.
“We said we wouldn’t—“
“Fall in love. I know. But I broke the rules and now you have to decide what you’re going to do about it.”
Ok, I am totally smitten with the plot. I love the hate to love theme and it was done right. It had just the right about of angst. The buildup was perfect and when they finally get together…I was all butterflies. Josh was so funny and sweet and I like how Heather and Josh pushed each other. The best was watching them become friends and then lovers.
I really identified with Heather. She had the right amount of everything. She was a dreamer, a hard worker, and disciplined, but she also knew when to take a chance and she puts herself out there for Josh. And then there is Josh. I was pretty smitten with him. Who doesn’t love a hot musician who’s also
smart as hell? I completely understand his reservations with relationships and I think he has a very serious situation. It’s a serious topic that is done tactfully. It gives this book more depth. My only comment is that the book ended a bit suddenly and I felt their ending was great, but also extremely fast.
Overall, though, I enjoyed this book. It’s a great fast read for a Saturday afternoon. Happy reading!
