Sins of Sevin ~ 4.5 Stars
Just finished Sins of Sevin … no idea how I feel right now … I am a sucker for forbidden romance and I loved it but I am a little sad for both of Sevin and Evangeline though. Sevin grew up on a religious family with his father and stepmother. After Sevin’s dad died he was offered a nice job for a family business but the catch is Sevin has to court one of the three daughters and marry into the family. With nothing to lose and no better prospect, he accepted those rules but once he arrived it was clear that he has his heart for Evangeline, the other sister. What will his fate be?
I wish Sevin married his true love but I understood Sevin was in a difficult position. I think he married Elle because he made a promise and intended to follow through. I can’t help but think of the “what ifs” if Evangeline stayed. Would it be any different? I don’t think so because like I sad Sevin is a good guy and he would kept his promise. Evangeline was also in a difficult position. She sacrificed and gave up her heart to ensure her sister’s happiness. I don’t agree with their actions – all actions lead to consequences. But I also know you cannot choose who you love and that the heart will do what it wants. With that said, this book is extremely well written. The story will keep you turning the pages until the end and I was emotionally exhausted when I finished. It was an emotional read for me – I was mad, heart-broken, torn, and devastated at times. Sevin and Evangeline are not perfect, but who is??? The ending is bittersweet but I have made up my own epilogue that time will heal all wounds. Sevin, Evangeline and Rose will find forgiveness, peace, love and live HEA 🙂 🙂
