My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the first time I read from author Erika Kelly and I am pleased to find a new author. Third person point of view is not my favorite but surprisingly it was not hard to read. Besides, rock star romance is one of my favorite genres so I enjoyed it all the same. Cooper is a great character. My heart aches for him though – Cooper has a sad childhood with an addictive and manipulative mother who only cares for herself. With Cooper’s talent he was able to skip Snowberry, Montana, seeking a better life for himself. Cooper vows never to look back. Cooper’s only regret was that he left his childhood crush/ love behind. A decade later, Cooper’s mother contacts him with secrets she wants to reveal and Cooper is forced to come home. Daisy manages the annual Huckleberry festival. Unfortunately, the talent she hired for the show just dropped out. Daisy is desperate to fill the spot. Luckily she runs into her old crush Cooper who happens to be a rock star. What will happen when the two childhood crushes work closely together? Can they fight the chemistry they have for each other and what will happen when Cooper’s short visit ends?
This was an interesting plot with a lot of different things that went on around town and Cooper’s secret past etc … the story not only focuses on the romance aspect between Cooper and Daisy but also on the family. There is definitely chemistry, romance and heat going on, especially once the two love birds finally give their relationship a fresh start. Cooper is a star, handsome and Daisy is sweet, sassy and caring. They complement each other well – Daisy helps Cooper let go of the past and find forgiveness and peace. This is a sweet childhood crush turned hot sexy romance. This is the final book of the Rock Star series and can be read as standalone.
