How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:
Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.
Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.
How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:
Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.
Check. Check. Check.
I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.
Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.
Especially when he’s mean to you.
Or so I thought.
Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.
That was sort of how it all started with Rush.
And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.
I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.
As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.
Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

So here is the scoop. Rush inherited a massive empire from his grandfather when he passed away. Among the many businesses, he owns The Heights – a high-end bar and restaurant in the Hamptons and well … and the whole town. Gia is having a huge writer’s block. She received an advance from the publisher already but she is having a tough time continuing the book. Gia used all the money she got, rented a house in the Hamptons, hoping for inspiration to finish her romance story. Gia needs a job so when her friend asks her to fill in bartending, Gia jumps at the chance to make some money (even though she has never bartended before). So who might be one of her customers you might ask? Yup! It’s the big boss at the bar staring a hole into the back of Gia’s head while she’s fumbling, screwing up drinks, giving wrong change and running the customers away :0 What will the alpha angry boss do? He hired the hot mess Gia as the new hostess since one of his employees walked off without notice J LOL
This story is hilarious. I enjoy the brooding, badass alpha hero. Rush is super intimidating, appears to be a jerk, but he has a soft spot. Rush is attractive to Gia but he is reluctant to act on it. Gia is sassy and she knows how to push his buttons. Gia and Rush both had a not so happy family life growing up – jaded with abandonment issues, lies and deceit from the people that they trusted. Rush doesn’t get involved with relationships or romance. He is a “hit it and quit it” type of guy but he is honest about his intentions from the start. Why is he this way? His douche bag of a father ruined it for Rush. Rush fears that he is cut from the same cloth … Is he the same asshole who will end up hurting someone? Then there is the issue of “don’t shit where you work”. In this case, Rush is the boss and should not mettle with an employee, even a very sexy one. As tempting as Gia is, Rush knows Gia is not a summer type fling and he knows it is a very bad idea to cross that line. Their romance is complicated but the chemistry between these two is off the chart – flirty, sizzling sexiness. More than half of the book, they were playing push and pull but we get what we want at the end. Just when Rush’s walls start to come down and he is willing to give love a chance, a huge surprise happened. It’s totally unexpected and Rush is having a tough time dealing with the new situation. Over all, book one is sexy, fun, with great banters and is uneventful until the HUGE cliffy ending that left me gasping for air. A giant reunion ensues and I am freaking out!!! I need Rebel Heart ASAP.
