Synopsis
This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.
It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.
But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?
Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.
But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.
But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.
And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?
REVIEW
WHOA!!!! I did not expect this one to be packed with all angsts and feels. My stomach was literally in knots from the beginning until almost the end of the book. LOVED IT!!!! A perfect story of taking chances and finding love when you are least expected.
Grayson is a rescue helicopter pilot and a single dad to an adorable little boy. Grayson is a true hero, brave – he is not afraid of taking risks if there is a chance he can save someone’s life. The only risk he is not willing to take EVER is – LOVE. Grayson was suspended from flying due to one of those “risk” he took which did not ended well (not at all his fault). Grayson was sent to a desk job waiting investigation. In the meantime, his two brothers thought it was a great idea to enter Grayson in a HOT DAD contest for a local magazine (without Grayson’s consent of course)
Sidney is a big city kind of girl – single and ready to mingle but not ready to settle down. She has big dreams of becoming editor-in-chief for one of her family’s fashion magazine. But Sidney screwed up big time (also not completely her fault). Her dad was furious. He decided to send Sidney to Sunnyville to work on the Modern Family, in particular Hot Dad of the Year assignment. Sidney’s future editor-in-chief position depends on whether she is successful with this project. Let me tell you it will not be easy. How is Sidney going to convince Grayson to stay in the competition? What happened when Sidney showed up at Grayson’s door steps and he recognized her from the past – a spoiled brat that he despised. Can people change? Grayson also has some demons to exorcise. He was burned in a worst way and may never be ready to risk his heart for anyone. The question is – is Sidney worth the risk?
Ok so the hero – single dad, hometown hero, sexy, alpha, but unavailable – YES please! His little boy – ADORABLE! The parenting part is absolutely hilarious – so real and relatable. The heroine came from a well to do family but she is hard working with big dreams. She is feisty, sexy, beautiful and irresistible. The chemistry between Sidney and Grayson is so freaking sizzling hotness – full of angsts, sexual tension and a large dose of passion. Worth the risk is a heartwarming, beautiful romance. Emotional and absolutely addicting. I adore Grayson’s little boy – he is so sweet, innocent, totally melted my heart. The secondary characters are amazing as well especially Rissa and the Malone’s family. I love everything about this book the relatable characters, the romance, the feels, the brilliant plot, and the flawless writing. I seriously could not put it down – devoured in one sitting.
