Oh my squeeze!!! This book is so freaking amazing! Heartfelt, emotional, romantic and swoon worthy. After the King died, Lenora became the crown Queen. Lenora is young but she is intelligent, charming and confident. She wants to rule as a strong-minded Queen without the pressure of having a man by her side. Unfortunately, Parliament is demanding that the Queen should find a suitable partner, married and settle down. After much thought, Lenora decided it would be a good idea to marry her childhood best friend Thomas; but tragedy strikes and the Queen was brokenhearted. Edward is Thomas’s older brother who left the country for a long adventure – mountain climbing, exploring jungles. He is always craving the next hit of adrenaline but Edward finally comes home to fulfill his brother’s promise. What Edward did not expect was that courting the infuriating Queen would be challenging and the greatest adventure of all.
I adore Lenora and Edward’s relationship – flirty, sweet, enemies-to-lovers. Lenora appears to be cold-hearted at first but once Edward peels down the layers what he realizes is that Lenora is the Queen of hearts. Given the year the story took place, there are loads of sweet romance, not overly sexed, which is quite a nice change. I also like the emotional side of the story – Thomas and Lenora’s relationship. Thomas is the sweetest and deserves so much more. This book is the prequel to the Royally series and it is my favorite. Although all the other books are amazing as well. I mean who doesn’t want a little fantasy fairytale, right? Beautiful romance, well-written and a fantastic read.
