Oh wow! This was one heartwarming love story. The hero Noah a bit older than Heather but surprisingly it did not bother me at all. I think the author did an awesome job with Heather making her character pure and innocent in Noah’s eye but yet very mature for her age. Heather was a caregiver for her mother as well taking care of their rental boathouse. She has huge responsibilities on her shoulder and thus she gave up so much of her own goals and ambitions. Noah is renting the boathouse for the summer. He is an enigma, brooding, handsome, unapproachable. He is here for summer hoping for some quiet, relaxing time but no such luck. Heather will see that he gets some company whether he likes it or not LOL this woman is definitely persistent!!! I like that Heather is super honest. She does not hide her feelings or play games. Noah thinks Heather is jail bait but the more time they spend together the more he has romantic feelings for her. Noah does not act on it though and it’s not only because of her age…he has a huge secret he is hiding from Heather. BTW, that was some twist!!! I did not see it coming. What happen when Heather find out the real reason Noah came to Lake Winnipesaukee? Is it coincident, fate, or is it all had been carefully planned out?
I like the slow burn relationship between Noah and Heather. A couple times, I thought Heather was offering herself up too much and with each rejection my heart breaks a little for her. But in the end, I understand Noah’s predicament. He is a good guy – caring and respectful. Super swoony the way he looks out for Heather – some out jealously but so cute though. For the most part, I really like the sweet, easy, flirty friendship. The sexy part comes after and of course Penelope doesn’t disappoint – very intense and passionate. Over all, this was another great read. Slow burn, heartfelt, forbidden romance. I love the epilogue and the bonus epilogue as well. Unique story, well-developed characters. Beautifully written!!!
