REVIEW

So, if you are familiar with Kate Stewart’s book you know she doesn’t do anything ordinary. Her stories are unique, risky, emotional, and heartbreaking. The hero in this story is a Hollywood star but not as typical as you might think. This story is not about the glitz and the glam of a superstar. Lucas has serious demons. On the outside, he seemingly has it all – a beautiful wife and a successful career. But he is screaming inside, buried in pain over the death of his best friend. Lucas took on the role of a lifetime, immersed totally in his role, living as someone else and completely loses himself in the process. Has he gone overboard this time and at what cost? The concept of “method acting” I had never heard of before and the ending left me reeling. Bravo!!!
Lucas and Mila’s story proves that love/marriage is not always roses and sunshine. Sometimes it’s messy, painful and sad. You must put in the time, effort, and patience (which Mila has in an abundance ❤️) to make it work. What I appreciate about Kate is that she doesn’t sugar coat anything — even the ugliest parts. That’s why her characters always come through completely real, honest, and sincere.
As always, the writing is extraordinary – I was an emotional mess after I finished. But don’t worry, the story was told in the past (fun, flirty, sexy) and present, so you do get some reprieve from all the angsts and heartache.
Method is fascinating – all the feels,. It’s raw, intense, romantic and all too consuming. Once again, the author touches my heart and leaves a mark. Read it!
