Wow! The Crush was fantastic. A childhood crush, friends-to-lovers, forbidden, second chance romance turned out surprisingly emotional and intense. Jace and Farrah have known each other for quite sometimes. Jace is the best friend of Farrah’s brother Nathan. When Farrah’s parents unexpectedly passed away Jace moved in with Farrah and Nathan to help with living expenses. Farrah had a secret crush on Jace since they were kids but now they are all grown up. Nathan is always protective and playing big brother dearest but how long can he keep his feelings bottled up? It was easy for Farrah to ignore her crush but now that they are living under one roof it is impossible to not lush over her older brother’s best friend. Little that she knows the feeling was mutual. The attraction was undeniable. It’s was inevitable that they fell for each other. But what happen when Nathan found out Jace and Farrah have been sneaking and lying this whole time? Let’s just say Jace did not deal with the situation well. He totally destroyed Farrah’s heart and broken all the trusts. They did not see each other again until 7 years later. Farrah is no longer a naïve girl pinning over a guy that won’t stick around. She built a wall around her heart and determined to not let anyone in. It’s an uphill climb for Jace if he ever wants to get back in Farrah’s good grace. I have to say Jace and Farrah’s road to HEA is a huge roller coaster of emotions, slow burn, and full of angst. There are some sweet, light-hearted and sizzling part as well. The Crush is about forbidden/second chance romance but also a story about friendship, family, secrets, forgiveness and redemption. What a beautiful read!
