The Last Piece of His Heart was a bittersweet conclusion to the Lost Boys series. We have met Miller and Violet in the first book, Holden and River in the second book (they are my favorite ). This last one is about Ronan and Shiloh. Their story might be the most heartbreaking. Ronan has been in and out of foster care since he was a kid. The circumstance surrounding his mother’s death was horrifying and so incredibly sad for a young boy to witness. His father eventually died as well. Now at 10 years old, Ronan is back in town to live with his uncle – “live with” is being used loosely here. Ronan went back to finish high school but he is having a hard time fitting in. He is seen as an outcast. The only best friends Ronan has is Miller and Holden. When Ronan met Shiloh the connection was instant but Ronan has his reasons to stay away. Ronan is a good guy but he has his demons. He is fiercely protective of his friends as well as Shiloh, and that came to wreck him. So many years of Ronan’s life wasted – he deserves so much better. The journey for Ronan and Shiloh is quite emotional, full of ups and downs, drama, angst, and heartbreaks. They both persevered and in the end they found justice and happiness. The epilogue was perfect. I was happy to hear about the characters from the first two books. What a beautiful ending! The whole series really is fantastic. Gorgeous writing as always. I highly recommend reading them all order 
