Well LOL I just inhaled this in one sitting. L.J Shen definitely know who to write arrogant a**h*le hero that will get your blood boiling. In the end though, they all redeemed themselves perfectly and the man in black, Chase is no different. Maddie and Chase are old friends – what I mean by that is he broke her heart in pieces. Maddie’s life is all in order now with a successful career in fashion and a nice pediatrician boyfriend (you know he saves lives :)). What she did not need is her ex Chase Black appeared at her door steps asking for an outrageous favor – to be his fake fiancé during his father’s final days. What Maddie should have said is “get lost” but what with her soft heart and incessive needs to please people she agreed to playing fake fiancée…Well that just about turning Maddie’s well-crafted life upside down. I adore Maddie – She is quirky, nice, caring person… I mean she did not get the tittle Martyr Maddie for no reasons. The hero Black … ugh I want to hit him over the head with my kindle sometimes arrogant, entitled who is not used to being say “no” to that option. I enjoy the banters, the awesome chemistry, and of course the romance and the HEA. If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers, fake engagement, and second chance romance this is a good one.
