WOW! I did not expect this book to be such an angst galore! Holy moly, on top of that Holden and Lala relationship was a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed out loud, swooned, and cried at the end.
Lala and Holden have been friends since childhood. Holden is best friend with Lala’s brother Ryan. Before Ryan passed away, Holden made a promise to always take care of his sister Lala, you know…keep an eye on her … but not too closely 🙂 Lala is always a smart book nerd with big dreams. Holden is a free spirit drummer. Years passed. One day, Lala showed up to NY needing a place to stay for 6 months since she got a grant to do research on Alzheimer disease nearby. Lala is all grown up to be a sexy, smart, irresistible woman which only bad news for Holden especially she will be moving in to an apartment next door. Oh! and she is engaged to an equally brainy guy. Holden is still a musician waiting for a big break and playboy by night. Lala and Holden are the exact definition of polar opposite attract. On paper, Lala is too good for Holden and she is completely off limit. The chemistry is off the chart with these two though, literally pouring from every page. They have no business claiming each other but jealousy is a bitch! Lala and Holden toed the line dangerously. All the emotional turmoil, slow burn, and angst really drove me mad 🙂 Sometimes, I want to hit them both in the heads with my kindle :0 Lala could not help crushing on Holden but she feels so much guilt of hurting her fiancé. Holden, too, held regrets even thinking about his best friend’s sister in such an intimate sexual way. How do they navigate different life, distance, and jealousy given Holden’s reputation and his current career? Well guys, hold to your seats for quite a bumpy ride!!!

What I love about Holden and Lala is the way they can communicate and be honest with each other. They both acted out in jealousy but they always apologized and acknowledged when they were wrong. I love how protective Holden is with Lala. The way Holden instantly dropped everything to take care of Lala is really sweet. Don’t we all want a partner like that? Lala is innocent but she has a naughty side for sure. It takes a special kind of woman to change a man like Holden. How swoony to see Holden head of over heal for Lala the moment he sees her again. The mission he took to prove he is worthy of her love … Melt in a puddle and sign 😉 The sex part is super hot, guys! Didn’t know the sexting and facetime can be so freaking yummy! Love the secondary cast of characters – all the guys! Cannot wait for Owen story – sounds like a one-night-stand hot mess 🙂 One of my favorite’s genre!

I mentioned this before but will say it again. These two authors are amazing – their writing is just seamless and the story flows smoothly you will never know it was actually two authors. They delivered EVERYTIME! Stories after stories of sweetness, sexy, passionate, emotional romance. We are lucky to have such great escape!
