Monster Prick by Kendall Ryan
Over my dead body.
That’s what I told Gracie when she informed me of her plan to pick some random guy she met online to get rid of her pesky virginity.
If anyone is touching her, it’s going to be me.
I shouldn’t even be considering it, but I can’t get it out of my head: her, under me, begging me.
Arrogant. Cocky. Prick.
Those are the words I’d use to describe my older brother’s dangerously handsome best friend.
When he learned of my plan to kick off my white cotton briefs, ditching my good girl persona once and for all by losing my virginity to the first eligible bachelor I could find, he flipped out. Said over his dead body.
He says if anyone’s going to do it, it’s going to be him.
I hate that I’m even considering his offer.
But I am … I sooo am.
Ever since he suggested it, all I can think about is his cocky smile on those full lips as he’s driving in to me.
But if we cross that line … will I ever be able to go back?
This is a novella spin-off from Screwed. Hudson and Gracie have known each other since childhood and have secretly desired each other. However, Hudson is Gracie’s brother’s best friend making her off limits. When Gracie lets her brother and Hudson know she is going to start on-line dating to lose her virginity, Hudson goes temporarily nuts and offers to take her virginity and teach her about sex. What should be just three lessons, turns into an love of a lifetime.
I liked the writing and there were some very STEAMY scenes. I enjoyed the dual POV. I liked the past scenes that showed Gracie and Hudson’s special relationship as children. It was very sweet how Hudson would leave her books or how they couldn’t hold hands, but she would hold his thumb. My biggest issue with book is that when I bought it from Amazon it wasn’t advertised as a novella. I literally started the book and all of a sudden, I was at the epilogue. I probably should have paid more attention to the tiny blurb at the end that said it was a novella, but I was expecting a full-length novel. It was so short I felt there wasn’t a lot of time to develop the relationship the way I wanted. I would have liked a little more angst before Gracie and Hudson take the leap to cross the friends to lover line. Of course, it’s a novella so it’s meant to be short. I think if I started the story knowing it was going to be a novella I wouldn’t have been so disappointed. Overall good read for a short story but I wanted more 🙂 🙂
