Seriously sexy and totally addictive, Wicked Dix is the second in the Hard Love Romance series. Find out how it all began…Dirty Dix OUT NOW.”

OMG! OMG! OMG!!! I just finished this beauty at 3 am …. I have no words … Could not put this book down for the life of me. Monica, you had me at the prologue girl! This quote: “Goodbye, Dr. Mathews. Thank you for being the biggest regret of my life”… had my heart immediately jammed right up in my throat. If you read the first book and know Maddy’s history, what she had been through, you will understand that being betrayed by the person she trusted the most hurts!!! Really BAD!!!!

“I want to say so many things, but I don’t. I simply stand numbly and watch the best thing in my life walk out on me. And for once, I do the right thing. I let her go.”

Folks, strap yourself down for a very different kind of bumpy ride than the first book – this is an emotional one!!!
Let’s talk about the characters. Monica James gave each of her characters special care – love them or hate them – these deeply complex characters are what created this gorgeous story. Dixon is a man-whore, handsome, and no doubt a brilliant psychologist. God! He is damaged and flawed but I love him so. Deep down he has a good soul but he is trapped in his old self, his past and he is desperately trying to break free. Since he met Maddy, he wants so badly to change, to be Madison’s good guy, and to deserve her but he is going about it the wrong way – the only way he knows how in order to protect Maddy. To fight off his mistake that is Juliet, he has to play into her game, to exploit her sickness, and to manipulate her into submission. But what happened when his plan backfired? Who will win and at what cost?

“We’ll always have Paris. Or, in our case, Rome. Goodbye, angelo. Never forget to smile. The world is a brighter place because of it.”

Maddy – she is so sweet, shy, and innocent. She too is broken – constantly living in fear of her tainted past, her enemies but mostly of herself. She is trapped in her own skin. Maddy trusts Dixon with her life. He is the only person she loves. Dixon heals her in the way that no one could, not even her parents or closest friends. From the prologue we all know what Dixon did with that trust – he ripped her heart out and stomped on it. Will love be enough to weather all the hurts, lies and betrayal?

Juliet is just evil. That’s it. She is a spoiled brat always getting what she wants and that includes men. She is a manipulative, conniving, narcissistic little step-sister – I hate her for it. She wants Dixon and if she can’t have him she will do everything and anything to make sure no one will, especially Maddy. “Misery loves company” well Juliet is just it – miserable. She is promiscuous with a sex addiction. Wait, I almost forgot she also has a “dying hyena with flatulence voice” (LOL :), you are killing me Monica). But Juliet was very young when she saw what happened to Maddy, and also with her mother’s passing – could it be too much for a young soul to take? I somehow feel sad and sorry for her. She needs help and I wonder if she has someone to lean on (besides the bastard of her fiancée).

“Sometimes, moving on with the rest of your life stars with… goodbye.”

Monica’s writing is nothing short of spectacular. I laughed, cried, swooned – LOVING every single written word. The dialogues, the narrative, and the portrayal of what’s in each characters mind … it’s all clever, quipped, and humorous; I could laugh my arse of one minute and cry my eyes out the next. When a book makes you cry, laugh out loud, scream into the night; you hate, love; you are sad, happy … all the emotions and feels jumble in one you know the author has captured your heart and soul. I can tell the author did some research on what a psychologist’s job entails because the patients that see Dixon and their story (a bat shit crazy chick talks to her teddy bear and a doctor’s fondness for farm animals) — oh my god, I was dying . There is plenty of angst, drama and suspense the whole time Dixon is carrying out his plan. Then I bawled my eyes out with the goodbyes especially the letter Maddy wrote to Dixon and the apology he gave on the other side of her apartment door – literally ripped my heart into pieces. At the end, I was hysterical with the wedding part (you have to read and see ). And of course the HEA — the epilogue – SWOONS…. It’s really is never too late to love!!!

“One must have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star”

Monica James is a true talent. I cannot tell you how much this book touched my heart. This book’s genre is erotica which I am surprised because I promise you there is a gorgeous storyline behind it. Don’t get me wrong it IS an erotica alright – the love-making, the desperate sex, the angry sex, the BJ you’ve got it all 🙂 – and it’s scorching, panty-dropping, squeeze your legs together HOT HOT HOT!!!!! But there is more. The story is about broken dreams, mistakes, lies, healing and forgiveness. This story captured true friendship, family, and everlasting love.

“We are never so defenseless against suffering as when we love”

I am desperately in need of a story for Hunter and Mary … Hunter is a reformed man-whore. He’s got his eyes on Mary but she thinks he is nothing but a disgusting pig – I beg to differ. So, I’m begging for their story at this point. Actually, I will take anything Monica James! Do you hear me? Honestly, I just really love her stories and her writing. I am Addicted to SinLOVE LOVE LOVE this series! Just brilliant!!!!!

“Protect us on our travels, wherever we may roam; keep us safe and guide us, always safely home.”
