Wow! Chasing is a surprisingly light-hearted, fun, beautiful read. Lovely characters. Perfect writing that flows nicely from beginning to end. Intriguing, well thought out plot.
Eva is a young business woman trying to run a company that was left for her after her father died. She is doing the job but her passion is really culinary. Eva is strong, determined, witty and has a good head on her shoulders. I always enjoy a strong, successful heroine in a book.
Clive is Eva’s most important client. He is charming, sexy alpha, playboy, and an ex-FBI agent. He also does not do love but that’s because he has not found the right one. The problem is he is about to break ties with her company. Apparently, Eva and Clive have met each other in the past. Eva is oblivious to that but Clive remembered her well. The two started out professional as friends but quickly became attracted to each other. Their love story is sweet, sexy, flirty, and romantic.
There is a twisted plot to this story as Eva’s company is being sabotaged. Eva’s life might even be in jeopardy. Clive is doing everything to protect her. So there is a little drama and suspense there. This is the first of three books. At the end of the book, the business aspect is unresolved but the relationship is promising with a strong suggestion of more to come.
Overall, this debut story was a light, sweet and sexy read with a touch of drama. Intriguing plot, likable characters. This story is told in alternate POV but in 3rd person so you do get the insights of both of their minds. Looking forward to the continuation of the lovebirds story!!! 🙂
