HOLLY Goodness!!! This book duet is EPIC. I’ll be honest – paranormal/fantasy is not my usual trope. For some reason I am totally addicted to this duet! The complicated characters? Yes. The in-depth storyline? Yes. The outstanding storytelling? Absolutely. I re-read A King so Cold first and I was captivated as if it were the first time I read it. The Stray Prince started out with a heart-stopping development and just continued as such the whole way through. I dare you to put it down … way too intense, action-paced, full of betrayals, vengeance, heartbreak, angsts, twists and turns beginning until end. The Queen is absolutely brilliant. She is strong and ruthless. She rules fiercely and she is stubborn. But she does know right from wrong and when to apologize. I guess that’s what love does to you – even the icy Queen softened.
If you read the first book, you know there were two heroes. I think you either root for the King or the Lord but trust me when you have finished the first book, you will understand why the author chose one over the other. Fear not, there is no cheating but there is a person the Queen married to and a person she “linked” to . It makes total sense and really, the world is just as it should be. I absolutely love Zad. If there is a definition of true love and devotion – this man is IT!
I don’t know what else to say but his duet is beyond AMAZING. The fantasy world and characters were executed to perfection. Extraordinary imaginative writing. EF outdone herself. This duet is a masterpiece you don’t want to miss. No doubt one of my favorites 2021 🙂
