Well the dynamic duo did it again! What an amazing, emotional, heartfelt love story. I completely devoured this in one sitting and this story is not exactly short J
This one has a little bit of everything divorced heroine with a son, sport hero, forbidden romance (ex-brother in law).
Presley was married to her high school sweetheart Tanner and they had a son but her husband turned out to be a cheater and sort of a deadbeat dad (he has some demons that wasn’t dealt with properly). When Presley’s grandfather-in-law passed away he left the family inn to Presley’s son with the other half belonged to her ex-brother-in-law Alex. Presley decided to move back to start fresh in Beaufort, South Carolina. Presley wanted to repair the old inn and turn it into Bed and Breakfast but Alex has other ideas. He wants to sell the old place and skip town as quick as possible. Presley and Alex could not agree on anything not to mention Alex has some resentment toward Presley for leaving her brother when he was down. As you can see the tension is high … it’s not all business though … the sexual tension is off the chart high as well J The minute they laid eyes on each other the attraction is undeniable and they both knew they are in trouble. Presley has no plan of leaving and Levi refused to back down. What happen when they have to live under one roof at the same time trying to work out their differences? Sparks fly, explosive chemistry, and lots of sexual tension. Hate turns to friendship turns to love … it’s messy and complicated.
I actually really like the relationship development of these two characters. There are many reasons Alex and Presley took their time and not jump into bed right away. Presley has a son and she was married to Levi’s brother (who already has a complex that Levi has everything). Also Levi is only staying for the summer then he has to back to play professional ball. They tried to fight the attraction but eventually gave in … what they did not expect was to fall in love. I adore Levi – he is such a good guy at heart. He is generous, kind and a gentle to his nephew. Presley went through a lot but she is strong and a great mom. I also adore the kid Alex. The neighbor Fern is a hoot J Presley’s friend is hilarious too. What a great cast of secondary characters. They added so much joy to the story.
This book got everything – angsts, emotional, steamy, sweet, awesome banters and a lot of laughter as well. All the feels and a HEA! Beautifully written. MUST READ!
