HOLY SWOONY ZEUS! What a sweet and fun read. I am always impatiently waiting for Lauren’s books to come out. It’s like waiting for my next fix J After reading several intense novels over the past few weeks, I was more than ready for something light and entertaining. Thankfully I found my reprieve through Hard Wood – another heartwarming, hilarious, low drama, high dose steamy and sizzling romance between Patrick and Mia.
Patrick is a swoony, sexy, gorgeous, feline lover, and ready to settle down. He is a total package ladies. Ever since meeting Mia through Max, Patrick has had the hots for his best friend’s sister. Patrick is confident and a go-getter. When he wants something, he is going to get it and he WANTS Mia. Problem is Mia lives across the country and we all know how long distance relationship works. Mia occasionally comes to town to visit her brothers. Mia and Patrick become fast friends. They have an easy, flirty relationship but one night Mia got to know Patrick on a whole different level – intimately. I adore Mia. She is sweet, fun, easy going and quirky. I enjoy the witty banters, the sexual innuendo, and the way they relentlessly tease each other. I find myself giggling like school girl and my heart fluttering the whole time. They are so freaking adorable together.
Lauren is the queen of romantic comedy. I love Patrick’s POV – I think Lauren writes the best male POV though – spot on with the jokes. It’s like she lives in the guys’ head – perfectly executed. If you need a dose of light-hearted, panty dropping sexy, romantic, charming chic-flic this is the one for you. The cute cat, the great outdoors, the lovable characters and the entertaining plot = Another fantastic read!!!!
